"The incident occurred on Saturday late night near Bonda village on Sariya Baramkela road leaving three people dead and two others including the driver injured," Raigarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Bhagat told PTI.
While the victims were going to attend a marriage function at Bonda from Raigarh, the driver of the SUV failed to notice a stationary tractor parked on the roadside. As a result, the vehicle rammed into the tractor resulting in the death of three people on the spot, police said.
The injured were admitted in Raigarh district hospital where their condition was stated to be critical, he said.
A case has been registered against the driver of the SUV while further investigation was on, he added.
