Acting on an information, a police team launched a search operation and intercepted a motorcyclist with two pillion riders near Tukbeda village while they were on their way from Chatarpur to Purwa Mode under Bisrampur police station, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ajay Kumar.
Following a search, he said police seized two country-made pistols and 29 live cartridges from their possession.
The motorcycle they were travelling on had police sticker with Uttar Pradesh registration number, Kumar said adding that two-wheeler has been confiscated.
Kumar said Sunil was an accused in the murder of JVM local leader Narendra Singh and his brother Ajit Singh, who were shot dead in Kandhwan village under Bisrampur police station of the district in September last.
