Three poachers arrested, rhino horn recovered

Three suspected poachers have been arrested and a rhino horn was recovered from their possession in Assam's Nagaon district, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the police and CRPF launched an operation in Oriagaon area of the district and apprehended three persons, who were travelling by bicycles last night.
The security forces recovered a rhino horn, weighing one kilogram and 200 gms, from their possession.
The arrested trio have been identified as Miraz Ali, Syed Haldar and Rezzak Ali and the area from where they were arrested was near Kaziranga National Park's Western ranges of Bagori and Burapahar.

Altogether eleven rhinos have been killed by poachers and their horns removed during the first two months of the current year.
