Three school students drown in Bharatapuzha river

Three school students today drowned while allegedly taking a dip in the Bharatapuzha river at Deshamangalathu here, police said.
The incident happened as one of the boys slipped and fell, following which he and was washed away. The other two -- Mehaboob and Niyas - who tried to rescue him were also washed by the current of the river, they said.
The students studied in ninth standard at a vocational higher secondary school here and were returning from a tuition class.
