Special security arrangements were being made for Durga puja and Eid-ul-Zuha festivals, IG (Law and Order) R K Vishwakarma told reporters here today.
He said that 78 companies of central forces received after Muzaffarnagar riots would continue till Bakrid and it would be deployed as needed.
Districts in eastern UP where Puja and Ramlilas were organised on a large scale, 41 companies of PAC have been as additional security arrangements, the police official said.
All district authorities have been directed to allow installation of statues and processions at traditional places and routes only, he said.
Two bomb disposal squads and three anti-sabotage teams would be kept ready to face any situation, the police official said, adding necessary instructions would be issued to zonal, range and district level officers through video-conferencing.
