Tigress dies of old age

An ailing tigress has died of old age in Van Vihar National Park here, a forest official said today.
"The big cat, named 'Sita', was 21 years old. She was suffering from an injury in her hind leg over a month, which had restricted her movements. She died last evening," Van Vihar Assistant Director, Sudesh Waghmare told reporters.
Autopsy report revealed that the big cat died of old age, he said.
'Sita' was brought to the national park in 1994 from Jagdalpur when she was just nine months.
Her last rites were performed in the park premises.
