Filmmaker Tim Burton will have the honour of turning on this year's Blackpool Illuminations.
Burton, 56, who has been a long-time fan of the seaside town, will turn on the light display after a concert next month, reported BBC News.
The event on September 4 will see performances from acts including Only The Young, Lawson, Jedward and Professor Green. The Vamps are headlining proceedings.
Councillor Gillian Campbell, deputy leader of Blackpool's council, said, "Having one of the most famous film directors in the world turn on the Blackpool Illuminations is a major coup and shows the high regard the town is held in the hearts of our famous visitors.
"We know he is a huge fan of Blackpool and we are delighted that he has agreed to switch the Illuminations on for us on the biggest night of Blackpool's year.
"This is gearing up to be one of the best switch-on events we have ever had."
Burton is known for films such as "Edward Scissorhands", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Beetlejuice".
The director started filming "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" in Blackpool earlier this year, with the likes of Eva Green, Samuel L Jackson and Dame Judi Dench starring in the project.
The film will be released on March 4, 2016 in the UK and the US.
