West Bengal Left Front Chairman Biman Bose today said the state's 'biggest achievement' under a woman Chief Minister was that it topped the list with regard to crime against women and the ruling Trinamool Congress was a party of hooligans.
"The biggest acheivement of West Bengal under a woman Chief Minister is that it had topped the list in atrocities against women in India," Bose told reporters today.
He mocked at TMC MP Tapas Pal claiming innocence in the ponzi scheme scam even as his residence was raided by CBI.
"He must have been a kid when he was attached to the ponzi compnay and that is why he is saying he was not aware that the ponzi firm was involved in chit fund bussiness. Now he has become adult so he has realized the truth. It is better not to comment on such matters where illegal money transctions are involved," the CPI-M Politburo member said.
He also alleged that TMC workers damaged the statue of Lenin in Jadavpur area of the city yesterday.
"TMC before coming to power in West Bengal had claimed that they are the real party with Left ideology. In India and across the globe, all the Left parties believe in principles and ideologies of Lenin. But TMC which claims to be a Left party today are indulging in activities such as breaking statues of Lenin. This is a shame," Bose said.
"The TMC is a party of hooligans which has no ideology of its own," he added.
