Lashing out at the Trinamool Congress for the arrest of its former leader Asif Khan for revealing about the Saradha Scam, state BJP president Rahul Sinha today said his arrest can't save the TMC leadership from the hands of CBI.

"Why did the Bengal police arrest Asif Khan now in a forgery case which was lodged long back? What was the police doing all these months? Why did they arrest Khan when he had alleged about the TMC leadership's direct involvement in the Saradha scam?" Sinha wondered.

Asif Khan, who had accused a section of the TMC leadership of been involved in the Saradha chit fund scam, was on Thursday arrested in a cheating case.

"By arresting Khan, Trinamool is trying to shut his mouth as he might spill more beans. But I would like to tell the TMC leaders that by arresting Khan, then can't save them from the hand of CBI," Sinha told reporters.

He said, "The arrest of Khan reminds me of the arrest of Ghosh last year when Ghosh started spilling the beans about the involvement of Trinamool leadership in multi-crore Saradha scam."

The special crime branch of CBI had also grilled Asif Khan, who was the editor of a Bengali daily 'Aajker Kalom', in connection with the Saradha scam.
