TMC MLA dies of cancer

A senior ruling Trinamool
Congress MLA Naresh Chandra Chaki died of cancer here today, his family sources said.
He was 79 and survived by a son and a daughter, his wife having predeceased him.
Chaki, who was Trinamool Congress' Nadia district committee chairman, was elected from Chakdah constituency in the 2011 Assembly poll.
He was admitted to the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Cancer Research Institute on February 17 where he died.
Earlier Chaki was elected to the state Assembly in 1972 on a Congress ticket.
He was a former Trinamool Congress Nadia district president.
He was also a former secretary of the West Bengal Pradesh Congress.
