Ghosh Dastidar told PTI the car suddenly popped up infront of her vehicle and there was a collision and she was suffering chest pain though her driver was unharmed.
The Barasat MP said after being attended by a local doctor, she took rest at her home in Madhyamgram and would go for check up at a hospital by tonight.
Additional SP Tarun Halder said the driver of SUV was at fault as it suddenly rammed into the MP's sedan at Guma on Jessore Road.
The driver and occupants of the SUV, which hit Ghosh Dastidar's vehicle, escaped but the vehicle was impounded by the police.
TMC sources said that the MP might be taken to a private hospital in the city later in the evening.
