Jayalalithaa inaugurated 1424 houses constructed by the Slum Clearance Board in different parts of the state through video conference from here on Monday, an official release said.
The houses were constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 82.78 crore in Tiruchirappalli and Tiruvannamalai among others.Further, she also inaugurated houses constructed by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board for higher and middle income groups at Chennai, Vellore and Thanjavur at Rs 38.81 crore, it said.
Jayalalithaa inaugurated a 2.76 lakh sq.Ft. Foodgrains wholesale complex here, and a two-storeyed parking lot that could accommodate 2500 two-wheelers and 50 cars at the local Koyambedu bus terminal.
