TN CM orders release of water from Aliyar Dam

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Pannerselvam today ordered release of water from Aliyar Dam in Coimbatore District for irrigation and drinking water needs.
Water will be released from tomorrow and would irrigate 6,400 acres in Pollachi taluk in Coimbatore district, an official release said.
The chief minister said the water release was ordered in deference to requests made by farmers and it would also fulfill the drinking water needs Pollachi residents.
