After yesterday's "footwear" protest, Tamil Nadu farmers at Jantar Mantar today staged another unique demonstration by hitting themselves with brooms to depict their "disadvantaged" status.
They shouted slogans and asked the Modi-led government to come to their rescue as farmers continued to commit suicide.
The farmers continued with their stir for the sixth day and demanded a farm loan waiver, crop insurance for individual farmers and setting up of Cauvery Management Board by the Centre.
CPI national secretary D Raja offered his support to the farmers and assured to take up the issue in the ongoing Parliament session.
