According to the actor, he had given money for construction of a building to one Shanmugasundaram. But the latter neitherstarted construction nor returned the money despite repeated reminders, he said.
On October 9, the man invited him for settlement talks. When the talks were going on at the builder's office, Shanmugasundaram and his associates attacked him and caused injuries to him, the actor alleged.
He said he lodged a complaint with the police against Shanmugasundaram and his associates.
The builder moved the high court contending that he was innocent and that a false and concocted case had been registered against him.
According toShanmugasundaram's complaint, he was attacked by Santhanam and threatened with dire consequences.
