Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today congratulated Sachin Tendulkar on being chosen for Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian award.
"It is befitting that you have been awarded this prestigious award," Rosaiah said in a message, released by the Raj Bhavan.
Rosaiah said his retirement "has left a void in the Indian cricket team."
"You have set a path for the future generations to follow. I am sure that you dedicated yourself to train and create many more Sachins in Indian cricket," he said.
The Governor wished Tendulkar long, happy and healthy life and many more years of contribution to the growth of Indian cricket.
