Powerloom workers union state secretary M.Chandran told reporters here that powerloom workers in Namakkal district were were working 12 hours a day but getting meagre daily wages.
Most of them are bonded workers, he claimed.
The union had raised the demands several times. The state government should intervene in the matter, he said, adding, they would go on strike on April 12 to press their demands.
