"The situation has come to such a pass that even children have begun consuming alcohol. Tamil Nadu Government should take steps for implementing prohibition", Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President E V K S Elangovan told reporters here.
"If the Government fails to implement prohibition, we will stage a protest demanding Chief Minister resignation".
The DMK, led by its treasurer M K Stalin, BJP Tamil Nadu unit President, Tamilisai Sounderrajan, DMDK Chief Vijaykant had staged protests, seeking prohibition in the state.
Liquor outlets in some parts of Tamil Nau had come under attack during the agitations.
Three persons were arrested yesterday after they set fire to the outlet, injuring a salesman.
