A field of 72 prominent amateur golfers, including 14 from overseas, will vye for top honours in 9th Delhi NCR Cup and Delhi State Championship, which will be held here from March 10-14.
The tournament is being presented by Hero Cycles and Gannon Dunkerley & Co Ltd.
The Delhi NCR Cup, which is a brain child of Delhi Golf Society and has the blessings of the Indian Golf Union, stands tall on credibility for this is the ninth edition and some of the best professionals including the current No.1 Rashid Khan has been a former winner of this event.
This year too, the tournament promises much excitement with the participation of five other countries - Spain, Portugal, Germany, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
"It's a great platform to chart your own destiny. You have to play really well to win this tournament. The top-2 gets to play at an international event abroad," said current PGTI Order of Merit leader, Rashid.
Apart from the laurels, the winners stand to gain crucial world ranking points on the World Amateur Golf Rankings and a chance to win a fully expense-paid trip to the World Amateur Golf Championship at an international venue.

Competition for both will be held concurrently. A grand members' event will raise the curtain on the opening day while the main event will be played from March 11-14 on a 72-hole strokeplay format.
"We at the Delhi Golf Society are a non-profit organisation which works diligently for the growth and development of golf. We provide support at the grass root level, especially to the needy and talented golfers. The Delhi NCR Cup is one such initiative to help nurture the talent," said Prakash Bhandari, President Delhi Golf Society.
"We are proud to be associated with this event since a long time. The results have been very encouraging which has motivated us to continue with the sponsorship. We promise today that we will sponsor for the next 10 years," said Manchanda, director, Gannon Dunkerley & Co. Ltd..
The winner and runner-up of this event will become members of Delhi Golf Society, it was announced.
