Top priority to setting up mineral-based units in Vidarbha: CM

Maharashtra Government will accord top priority to setting up of mineral-based industries in Vidarbha as the region is rich in natural resources, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said here today.
He said a logistic hub will soon come up here for online trading through internet, which will provide employment opportunities to local youths.
State government will reduce the number of permits required for setting up defence manufacturing units in Vidarbha from 75 to 25, the chief minister said while addressing a programme on Youth Empowerment.
Union Minister for Shipping and Road Transport Nitin Gadkari, state Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Sancheti, MP Kripal Tumane, Mayor Pravin Datke and organiser Anil Sole, an MLC, were present on the occasion.
Fadnavis said a Textile Park will be set up at Nandgaonpeth in Amravati district for promoting textile industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said natural resources in backward district of Gadchiroli will be tapped, which has the potential of investment to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore and could provide jobs to the local youth.
Gadkari said a Fruit Park will come up in neighbouring Wardha district with an investment of Rs 500 crore.
Bawankule said energy department is contemplating giving jobs to electrical and mechanical engineers as Feeder Managers in future.
