The stock ended the day with a gain of 2.53 per cent at Rs 167.90 on the BSE. In intra-day trade, it climbed 7.78 per cent to Rs 176.50.
On the NSE, shares of the company settled at Rs 167.75, up 2.47 per cent from its previous close.
In terms of volume, 6.09 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE and over 22 lakh shares were traded at the NSE during the day.
The total income has increased from Rs 2,628.95 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014 to Rs 3,063.11 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015.
In a separate filing, Torrent said it will pay a dividend of Rs 1.50 per equity share for the financial year ended on March 31, 2015, in the annual general meeting held yesterday.
