Tractor driver killed as heavy stone falls on him

A tractor driver was killed after a heavy stone allegedly fell on him in an under- construction site in Bisrakh area, police said today.
Bisrakh station house officer Ajay Kumar Sharma said the tractor driver had come to supply material at the site last night.
Suddenly, a heavy stone allegedly fell from a height and hit him following which he got critically injured, he said.
He was admitted to a private hospital but died during treatment, the SHO said, adding that the body has been for post-mortem.
His family has alleged negligence on the part of the builder and contractor, saying the National Green Tribunal (NGT) norms were not being followed.

The SHO said on receiving a written complaint from the deceased's family, action will be taken against the contractor and an FIR was lodged in this connection.
