The mob attacked Santosh Chaudhary with sticks before cutting veins of his leg leading to his death on the spot, Superintendent of Police, City, Anant Kumar said.
Chaudhary had gone to the village to give compensation and other help required for treatment of a woman who was hit by his tractor, but the crowd had none of it and brutally lynched him, he said.
The mob also beat up the tractor driver injuring him severely, Kumar said.
