No casualty was reported and none has been injured in the incident, an official said.
The mishap took place as the tractor-trolley had got stuck on the track which was being levelled with soil, Danapur Division's DRM R K Jha said.
The B-1 coach of the train jumped the tracks, he said, adding that there was no no casualty or injuries to anyone in the incident, he said.
There was nobody in the tractor-trolly.
The train service in Danapur-Mughalsarai route has been disrupted and several trains on up and down lines remained stranded for hours, Jha said.
Buxar DM Ramam Kumar and Santosh Kumar Nirala, a state minister, went to the spot to supervise restoration works, he said.
