A 40-year-old man, employed as clerk in trade tax department, died under suspicious circumstances at a private hospital said police.
"Family members of the deceased Atul Tyagi have alleged in their complaint that somebody might have given poisonous substance to him in his office or outside after he left for home," SHO Kavi Nagar Ashok Shishodia said.
Last evening, when Tyagi reached his residence he started vomiting.
As his condition worsened, his younger brother Ashu Tyagi rushed him to the hospital where he passed away during treatment.
Tyagi, a resident of sector 14-Raj Nagar, was appointed in the trade tax department on compassionate grounds after death of his father.

The body has been sent for post mortem to ascertain the exact cause of his death.
Viscera has also been preserved and sent to forensic science laboratory Agra for chemical analysis, the SHO added.
