Trainee IAS officer booked for rash and negligent driving

A trainee IAS officer has been booked on charges of rash and negligent driving in connection with a road accident last week, in which one of his colleagues were killed and three others injured, police said today.
A case has been registered against trainee IAS officer Ajit Kumar, who was also injured in the accident that took place near Dala village on Moga-Barnala highway, they said.
According to the statement given by driver Raj Kumar yesterday, at the time of the accident the car was being driven by Ajit. Ajit was driving the car at a speed of about 120 kmph when it met with the accident, Raj submitted.
A batch of four trainee IAS officers, including Ajit Kumar, was going to Takhtpura village in the Nihalsinghwala sub-division of the district from Jalandhar for rural training when the incident took place on November 6.
Nishant Kumar (26) hailing from Bihar was killed and all other occupants of the car were injured, police added.
