Trainee IPS officer drowns at Police Academy swimming pool

A 28-year-old IPS trainee officer drowned in a swimming pool at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) at Shivaramapalli here, police said today.
The incident occurred last night, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Rajendranagar Division) A Mutyam Reddy said.
"Manu Mukt Manav, a trainee IPS officer belonging to Harayana, and alloted Himachal Pradesh cadre, drowned in the swimming pool located at the SVPNPA last night," the ACP said.
Police did not elaborate how Manu drowned.
Rajendranagar police are further investigating and details are awaited.
