Trent shares soar 17.5 pc as Q3 net rises

Shares of Tata Group firm Trent zoomed 17.5 per cent today after the company reported a 14 per cent rise in standalone net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2016.
The stock skyrocketed 17.53 per cent to end at Rs 247.05 on BSE. During the day, it soared 19.98 per cent to Rs 252.20.
On NSE, shares of the company advanced by 17 per cent to close at Rs 245.90.
In terms of volume, 5.76 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 25 lakh shares changed hands on NSE during the day.
Trent yesterday reported a 13.99 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 37.22 crore for the third quarter ended December.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 32.65 crore in the year-ago period.
Its total income from operations also rose 14.87 per cent to Rs 440.71 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 383.63 crore a year ago.
