Police said the 18-year old tribal was gang-raped by the youths on Friday evening near Durghatna Devi Mandir at village Badgawan in neighbouring Singrauli district when she was returning from work at a local power plant.
All the four youths identified as Raju, Ashok, Mahendra and Rajesh were arrested, they said.
Badgawan police station in-charge D P Singh said the incident took place in a tribal area which is far away from here, which caused delay in the case being reported to the police.
Singh said the youths from the same village forcibly took away the girl when she was returning from work to an isolated place where they raped her.
Some other tribals, who were moving ahead of the girl, heard her cries and informed her parents.
Police said the medical test conducted on the girl confirmed that she was raped.
