The couple was arrested yesterday after the murder of Surji Ramdas Baraf (58) on Monday, PSI R R Patil of Jawhar police station said.
The killing took place in Kokda village after the victim refused to pay or work for the couple in lieu of the goat meat they gave him recently during the crop cutting season as a ritual.
Irked, the duo Vikram Baraf (52) and Hundibai (50) beat up the man, resulting in his death on the spot, police said.
