He also said the TRS Government is keen on safeguarding Wakf properties across the state and will start a special drive to remove encroachments on them.
The land, on which Lanco Hills realty project is coming up, belongs to the Wakf Board. It is very unfortunate that the erstwhile AP Government, instead of protecting the Wakf land, moved the Supreme Court claiming its ownership, he said.
Rao was addressing a meeting called to review Wakf properties here in Medak district.
The state government will bring a law to deal with Wakf issues and ensure their properties are utilised for the socio-economic development of Muslims, he added.
