The TRS government in Telangana has failed to fulfill its key promises, including 12 per cent reservation for Muslims, state Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged today.

The TPCC chief said promises of three acres for Dalits and STs and double bedroom houses for poor were also not fulfilled.

"However, KCR government is tying to create a wrong impression that it has fulfilled all the promises and resolved all problems," a Congress release said here.

Reddy, who interacted with Congress workers on a social media platform today, greeted Muslims in the state on the eve of beginning of the holy month of Ramzan, it said.

About the condition of Muslims in Telangana State, he alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has cheated the community on the promise of 12 per cent reservation.

Reddy said the four per cent reservation for minority Muslims, which was implemented by the previous Congress regime Congress, is still in force.

The promise of enhancement of quota for STs and Muslims has remained unimplemented for the last four years, the Congress leader said.

The Chief Minister was not a position to explain the exact status of Reservation Bill which was passed in the Assembly and sent to the Centre, he added.

The Telangana Legislature last year passed a Billwhich increases the reservation for Scheduled Tribes and backward sections among the Muslim community in government jobs and educational institutions.
