Sasaram Mufassil police station SHO Vijay Kumar Gupta said the incident happened on old Grand Trunk Road near district jail.
"People, especially visitors to the jail, were waiting at the bus stop when an empty truck ran into them. Two persons died at the spot, while two others have been admitted to Sadar Hospital in critical condition," the SHO said.
The truck driver and helper fled.
One of the deceased, the woman, was identified as Sita Devi of Kaithi village under Akodhi Gola police station of Rohtas district.
