The AAP government has cation in this regard in view of "safety and convenience" of the people of the city.
The government has also prohibited the "idle parking" of heavy, medium and light goods vehicles on certain numbers of roads notified by the transport department.
As per rough estimates, around 50,000 trucks enter the national capital every day contributing to the pollution levels in the city.
"Trucks entering the national capital will now be allowed only from 11 PM. Government has also issued the notification in this regard," a senior government official said.
Recently, the transport department had sent a proposal allowing of trucks in Delhi only from 11 pm, instead of existing 9.30 pm.
Another official said that the move to extend BY about two hours the no-entry period for trucks will help reduce pollution and ensure safety and convenience of trucks.
