Polls to the constituency had been countermanded following the death of Congress candidate P Chuba Chang a day before the state went to polls on February 23.
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) general secretary (admn.) told PTI that the party's executive meeting held in Dimapur yesterday decided not to field any fresh candidate.
He said that the party would extend support to Independent candidate Poyang Changkong Chang.
The other contestant is Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate L. Elam Chang.
A total of 22,049 electors, with 11,579 male and 10,470 female voters, spread over 30 polling stations would be exercising their franchise.
