Turmeric, jeera up on pick up in demand

Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely on the back of a pick up in demand from stockists and overseas enquiries amid limited arrivals from growing regions.
Turmeric prices went up by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 9,000-12,800 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also increased by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 17,400-17,600 and Rs 19,900-20,400 per quintal.
Traders said apart from buying support from retailers and stockists, rising export demand, mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
