TV18 Broadcast Q1 net loss narrows to Rs 4.29 lakh

Total income from operations on consolidated basis during the quarter under review was up 13%

Media firm TV18 Broadcast Ltd today reported narrowing down of its consolidated net loss to Rs 4.29 lakh for the quarter ended June 30, 2015.

The company had registered a net loss of Rs 154.54 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.

Total income from operations on consolidated basis during the quarter under review was up 13.06 per cent to Rs 596.67 as against Rs 527.73 crore in the year-ago period.

TV18 Broadcast's revenue from media operations segment was up 10.30 per cent to Rs 566.31 crore during the quarter as against Rs 513.42 crore during the same quarter of 2014-15.

Revenue from its film production and distribution segment jumped over threefold to Rs 52.60 crore during the period under consideration as against Rs 14.31 crore in the year ago period.

On standalone basis TV18 Broadcast has made a profit of Rs 8.86 crore during the quarter as against a loss of Rs 109.06 crore, a year ago.

Shares of TV18 Broadcast were trading at Rs 38.35 per scrip on BSE at 13:14 hrs, down 9.23 per cent from its previous close.
