Two arrested for ransacking bank branch to enforce shutdown

Police has arrested two youth who were allegedly part of a mob that ransacked a branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank here yesterday while trying to enforce a shutdown call given by the separatists.
"Imran Mir and Shafat Ashiq Najar were arrested for being part of a group which attacked the Budshah Nagar branch of the bank in Natipora yesterday and damaged CCTV screen, an LED, glass panes and other articles," a police official said.
The mob had attacked the bank branch to enforce a shutdown call given by the separatists.
The official said the duo were arrested after police identified all the youth, involved in the attack, during its investigation of the case.
"A manhunt is on to nab the other persons involved in the incident," the official said.
He said a case under section 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 452 (House-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrong ful restraint) of RPC was registered soon after the bank branch was attacked and investigation started.
More and more people and shopping establishments in Kashmir are defying the separatists' shutdown call and trying to resume their normal activities.
