Two arrested with 50 grams heroin in Jammu

Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested and 50 grams of heroin was seized from their possession in Jammu this afternoon, police said.
During a surprise check, two persons were noticed roaming in a suspicious manner near Prem Nagar area of the city, a police officer said.
When asked to stop, the duo tried to flee but were chased and nabbed by the police, he said.
During their search, 50 grams of heroin worth about Rs 50,000 was recovered from their possession, he said.
The accused, Ashwani Kumar and Sanaiv Kumar, were arrested and booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, he said, adding that investigation is underway in the case.
