The incident took place on Friday when organiser Anil Airen and Ramlila committee member and Amit Bhardwaj, brandished the weapon at the crowd to prevent them hooting during the Ramlila Manchan event.
A case under section 286 of IPC (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance) and section 25 of Arms Act (possession of prohibited weapons) was registered against Airen and pistol licence holder, Bhardwaj yesterday, they added.
No arrests have been made in the case yet, police said.
