A wild animal, suspected to be a
tiger, killed two bulls in a farmer's cattle-shed near here, forest officials said today.
The incident occurred in Thimbam forest.
The farmer had locked the shed last night and this morning he heard some noise and when he opened it, he found the bulls dead with bleeding injuries, Thimbam Forest Ranger Ramraj said.
Forest officials suspect that a tiger might have mauled the bulls as the pug marks of the animal were found inside the shed and nearby areas.
Officials said the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve area nearby was inhabited by more than 40 tigers and one might have entered the area.
