grand-daughter were charred to death when their hut caught fire at Bako in Assam's Kamrup (rural) district today.
The thatched roof of the hut at Nizkanthoni village caught fire from a lamp and fell on the two and engulfed them before they could escape, police said.
Besides the 60-year-old woman and her seven-year-old grand-daughter, their goat too was charred to death, the police added.
