Two Coimbatore dogs are finalists in Indian Dog alive contest

After going through hundreds of photographs of lovable Indian "community dogs" as well as their rescue stories, two dogs have been seleced for PETA's Fourth annual Cutest Indian Dog Alive Contest.
The judges have selected Manju, whose guardian is Mini Vasudevan, and Max, whose guardian is Shyne Priya, of Coimbatore as finalists, a PETA release said today.
Manju was a mother struggling for her and her pups' survival and Mini stepped in to help the family, getting all the pups adopted and having Manju sterilised.
Manju appreciated the help so much that she adopted Mini and began staying with her.

When Shyne found Max, the dog had been injured in an accident and was unable to walk. After receiving medical care, Max became playful. She is now an integral part of Shyne's life, it said.
All winners will appear in an upcoming issue of Animal Times, PETA India's magazine for members, the release said.
