Two constables suicides in the last 24 hours

Two police constables attached to 4th Battalion of Tamil Nadu Special Police in Kovaipudur in the city allegedly committed suicide in the gap of 24 hours, police said here today.
One Selvaraj, a grade II constable has committed suicide by consuming poison in his quarters on Monday night. Financial burden was said to be reason behind this extreme step, as he had borrowed huge amount to construct a house and also on his marriage, which was held just 45 days ago, police said.
Even as the news of the suicide dying down, one Muthupandi, another constable, was found hanging dead in his quarters last evening.

Love failure appeared to be the reason behind the suicide, as he had taken a selfie video and sent it to his lover in Udhygamandalam and also narrated that he will take extreme step. He had also sent a message to his lover in this regard in Whatsapp, police said.
Senior police officials had visited the Battalion this morning and enquired about the general conditions prevailing there, police said.
