Turbhe MIDC's senior inspector Ramchandra Deshmukh was suspended for alleged irregularities in probe into a case where he registered an offence to benefit and favour the complainants, the Navi Mumbai police said in a release issued last night.
Besides, sub-inspector Sanjay Yadav, who was the investigating officer in an economic offences case, allegedly arrested a builder in a haste, pressurised him, demanded Rs 5 crore from him and also illegally detained his son, it said.
The two were placed under suspension as their acts were not in keeping with the discipline of the police department and maligned its image, the release added.
