Two day Smart India Hackathon 2017 from April one

The two-day 'Smart India Hackathon 2017,' the world's largest digital product building competition, would begin here from April one.
Hackathon is a 36 hour non-stop digital programming competition during which student teams from all over India will compete to offer innovative solution to technical problems being faced by 29 Central Government departments.
A total of 7,531 teams from across India had submitted ideas from more than 2,100 technical institutions of which 1,266 teams have been shortlisted for the Grand Finale on these two days.
Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology here is one among the 26 nodal centres across India to organise the event.
Each nodal centre will represent different union Ministry, with Sri Krishna College representing Ministry of Environment and Forest and Climate change, the college principal, J Janet told reporters today.
Projects like farmer-retailer interface to prevent middlemen in the food processing ministry, ticket checking system in civil aviation ministry, improvement of road and transport facility in surface transport ministry, checking of steel, soil and water quality in respective ministries and man-animal conflict, will be some of the products on the card to be developed, she said.
The event will start through video-conferencing from Delhi by Union HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar on April one and Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration minister, S P Velumani and Higher Education minister, K P Anbalagan will participate.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will interact with the students through videoconferencing on the night of April one, she said.
