The accident took place last evening in Nauli, near Bagauli village. The car, in which six people were traveling, fell 400 metres below into the Pindar river, Uttarakhand state emergency operations centre said through the police superintendent office today.
On receiving information about the incident, police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operations.
In the accident, two persons died on the spot while one person is missing. The three injured have been taken to the nearest hospital.
