Two died, 7 injured in attack by rival gang

Two persons died and 7 others were injured when members of a gang attacked their rivals, over a long pending land dispute, near Madhurapudi village of Korukonda Mandalam around 30 kms from here, last night, a senior official said.
One of the gang leader died in the attack, police said.
"There was a land dispute between gang leaders Madha Ravi and Ambati Ramash for a long time and in this connection they had filed complaints against each other in local police station. Police had earlier settled the issue between the two groups," Deputy Superintendent of Police(Urban), J Kulashakar told PTI.

The officer, said, "Last night Ramash and his group members attacked Madha Ravi and his family while they were returning from Rajamahendravaram to Madhurapudi with knife and sticks."
Ravi died on the spot (28), and another four members of his family were seriously injured. On receiving information police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to government hospital, police said.
Kollapu Veeraju (40) died in hospital while undergoing treatment, police said.
A complaint has been lodged at Korukonda police station and a hunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
