Police said Sakthivel had come to his father's house with his second wife's son Maruthupandi and had differences with his father also. Frustrated by quarrel with his father he consumed poison after giving it to his son.
He had left his first wife Selvi and gone to Chennai after quarrelling with her four years back though the couple had three children.
Maruthupandy died immediately Sakthivel was rushed to the hospital where he died without responding to treatment.
