Gyanender (29) and Rajeev Dahiya (39) were caught by a team of Crime Branch near Bawana canal in Khera Khurd village when they tried to escape in their car by firing at the police party on June 4, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner (Crime) of Police.
Gyanender is among the most wanted criminals in Haryana, for his alleged involvement in several cases of murder, extortion and Arms Act.
The cops were shocked to find the weapons recovered from them which included a 9 mm Taurus automatic pistol, .455 bore US Army pistol, one sophisticated country-made carbine of .30 bore with two magazines and detachable-extendable butt, as well as multiple bore 66 live cartridges.
Gyanender is second in-command in Kartar gang which is indulged in a long-standing (since 1993) gangwar with another group led by Sunda Pehlwan alias Himmat.
Their fight for "supremacy" in Delhi and the NCR have left a dozen persons dead so far.
Now, Gyanendra was planning to kill the present leader of the Himmat gang, Dandu.
His associate Rajeev is also a dreaded criminal and has been declared a proclaimed offender in two murder and one Arms Act case, the officer added.
